My first attempt at a haiku. Did I do it right?
Drops of sunshine dew.
Cling to the nighttime comfort.
Day is pain anew.

It’s a lovely, modern haiku.

Good for a first attempt but when doing haiku the key element (other than 5 – 7 – 5 ) syllable structure is a movement from the external world to the internal world and sometimes back again, it’s like a snapshot of your insides and how they relate to the world. Here’s an example by myself even if of a bad quality.
Dying willow trees
I pass as I go fishing
“Is the sea too cold?”
Environment>subject>environment related to subject, while it’s not required to follow this path this kind of contrast is the key to haiku.
